This is the Myalup pine plantation. It was absolutely devastated by the 2016 Waroona/yarloop bushfires.
The fire burnt more than 69,000 hectares, and destroyed 181 properties, including wiping out the town of Yarloop. It is just incredibly sad. Being in this plantation was a sad reminder of what happened, but as you walked through, there were sprouts of new plant life, flowers and birds flying by. A reminder that life continues and grows even after great loss.
My thoughts are still with the community that will be trying to rebuild and move forward after their losses - They are still in our hearts and thoughts.
